The free Clock Buddies tool provided here allows you to quickly and efficiently pair people up. You can change the pairing by calling a different symbol. When you call the symbol everyone can look at their respective disks to find out who they need to partner with. It's an incredibly fast pairing mechanism and it can scale up to cover a lot of people.
You can use the clock buddies tool for:
Another similar method is Compass Buddies though this is limited to 8 people (after 8 main directions on a compass). The Clock Buddies generator here doesn't have this limitaiton.
You can find out more on how the generator works by reading our guide on clock buddies.
The Clock Buddies tool allows you to quickly generate all disks with the correct details on them for a number of participants. You no longer need complicated clock buddies templates, samples, worksheets or charts. Just add the names of the participants to the tool and generate one disk for each person.
The following video shows how the tool works.
You can also use the tool for speed networking or speed dating where you need to pair people up systematically, among several other applications. Normally, you can use their names in the tool, but then they have to find each other by name. If they don't know each other, this can be difficult, specially for a large group. As an alternative solution, you can assign them an ID (e.g. #1, #23,...) and print it in large font on labels. Get them to stick this on their upper chests. Now they can glance around and quickly search the room to find the person with the right number. For this solution, in the clock buddies tool below, add the list of IDs as their names. For example, you can call beta configuration and ID #3 can then look for ID #7, pair up and network until the time is up where you can then call the next symbol, for example teta, and the process repeats.
